file system watcher in bash/ksh
Hi all,
exist a filesystem watcher(like for example java) to check if exists particular file in a directory? i would avoid a polling method. Thanks in advance |

I don't know whether it can be used directly from shell; however many scripting languages (php, perl for example) support it. -- All the commands are tested with bash and GNU tools, so they may use nonstandard features. I try to mention when something is nonstandard (if I'm aware of that), but I may miss something. Corrections are welcome. |
