/hurd/ext2fs.static: device:hd0s0: No such device or address
Please,
The system is on a USB key, grub boots, the hurd starts but stops with this message: start /hurd/ext2fs.static: /hurd/ext2fs.static: device:hd0s0: No such device idem with /hurd/iso9660fs.static ! What happens ? I'm actually having exactly the same problem when trying to boot from an USB external harddrive on a eeePC. I am starting to think this may be (part) of the problem.
Could it be that the default hurd kernel does not support USB-device booting? Edit: yes, this is the problem as is explained on the Hurd-help mailing list. Last edited by komodo : July 2nd, 2008 at 02:50 PM. Reason: 'solution' found: mach does not (yet) support USB devices |

I got it to boot properly from the SSD in the eeePC (701 4G, 512 MB RAM), without swap. Have to find a solution for that one, since I understand that mach is difficult that way.
