backup multiple servers with a single tape drive

I agree one tape drive with TSM server loaded does not
really seem like a good idea but it is doable. I would
look into Tivoli System Backup and Recovery. You can
use this to set your LPAR with the tape drive as the
server and backup all the other systems to that one
drive.

Hi, Stefano,

Thank you for the detailed advice.
So, basically, I will need seperate tape for each
LPAR for mksysb
and I can use savevg or backup command to backup
multiple systems on one tape.
When you say it's a little tricky, could you
elaborate on exactly how I can achieve that?
