Security and Encryption Faq - 22.6.8

It may or may not be depending on the value of your data and your usage habits. When a volume is mounted all its data is accessible to anyone with permission to access that machine (or anyone who gains it, including the dreaded "hacker" or whatever bit of malware you might run across). Since your scenario revolves around running an entire operating system off that virtual drive for "security" it stands to reason that users might have sensitive data stored there also. So file encryption is still a very important part of the puzzle for a lot of people. Possible the majority of your audience. The way you explain it misleads readers into thinking that Truecrypt makes all their data safe regardless. That's precisely the way they SHULDN'T think. :( |
