Position: Disaster Recovery Coordinator

Prominent financial services organisation based in the West Midlands are actively recruiting for a Business Continuity Manager.

You will be responsible for the provision of business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for the individual business units within the organisation. You will make sure that information, data and systems are protected against threats to disruption and will ensure that business availability risks are managed and controlled within agreed limits.

Main Accountabilities:

·Working directly with Business owners, Risk Management and Business Availability Management to identify how business processes are supported by IT infrastructure
·Identify and assess risks to the business process due to lack of contingency in the IT services
·Develop a cost effective contingency strategy for the provision /sourcing of IT services, including liaison with external suppliers
·Support Manager when liasing with external agencies regarding Business Continuity issues as required
·Assist in the identification of external threats, trends and direction in Business Continuity Management that have material implications to the business.
·Identify improvements to business contingency solutions and effective implementation when required
·Continually assess changes and development in technology services to ensure appropriate contingency plans are maintained
·Design and develop testing strategy
·Lead, motivate and manage two direct reports

Salary: up to £50K base salary + bonus + financial services benefits



JB REQUIREMENTS

Technical skills:

·Business Continuity/Incident Management experience gained within a large organisation
·Detailed understanding and managing Risk
·Understanding of the Contingency Services market place
·Advanced influencing and negotiation skills including Senior Executive/Director level
·Strong communication skills

Essential:
Individual satisfies the criteria for being FSA approved, both initially and ongoing

Preferable:
Professional membership of the Business Continuity Institute
