No, we don't give a **** what the world thinks of us. The only "countries" It's fair enough that Americans should think of America first when they vote - does anyone in European countries think about the impact on the USA of their votes? course, it is still mind-boggling to imagine that Americans really do think Bush will be better for their country than Kerry. he has alienated are the ones who are jeallous because they can no longer profit from Iraq now that we're there. Actually, these countries were alienated long ago. It's countries like the UK that have now been alienated, so the USA is rapidly running out of *real* friends - and when the money runs out, the bought "friends" will go too. That includes the pirates at the UN who wouldn't enforce their own resolutions because the profits from Iraq were more important. > There is plenty of blame to go round many countries, but isn't this a case of the pot calling the kettle black? When has the US ever seen fit to pay attention to UN resolutions - even the ones they publicly backed themselves? Look at the Balklands war - the US played their part in the peacekeeping forces, while they simultaneously sold weapons to both sides. And of course, there is Isreal - few countries have ignored more UN resolutions than Isreal, and they have had full US backing all the way, purely for economic reasons. Kind of ironic that bin Laden's stated main reason for attacking the US was because of its support for Isreal, and that their main method of attack is economic. >- >Prior to this, it was American policy and the American government that was >so universally >hated around the world. Why have you waited so long to hate us? Don't worry. We'll let you hate us retroactively. > Most people (outside the US, anyway) see Bush as outstandingly bad. Previous presidents have been liked or disliked, but few have provoked the sort of hate that Bush has (both inside and outside the US). It's also worth noting that few have provoked the sort of fanatical loyalty that Bush has amongs have the US population. So it is very different now than before - nobody (outside the US) really hated old Bush or Regan in the same way. By they way, I don't think hatred of Americans (as distinct from America, or the American president) has grown much, despite the other poster. People are frustrated, confused, and incomprehending - but they are more likely to feel sorry for what you've let yourselves in for than to hate you. Sure, voting for Bush is the worst you could have done on a global scale (at least on the short term), but it's America who will suffer most. >- >If you get hit again, or your economy goes into a deep depression, the >American >people will be getting exactly what they deserve! > We'll probably get hit again.
