Cournot modeling - looking for intro on how to do this (specificiallyelectricity dispatch)
Hi
I would like to start to learn about cournot models, specifically electricity generation dispatch (x units, y firms, each with some srmc). Can I get some recomendations on resources which go through this, preferrably at a very basic and intro level (at least to start with). I would also like to then learn about adding further constraints, eg transmission, contracts, fuel limits, max generation limits etc, and just what this means in a cournot model and any implications. I am not sure I have made this bit clear but my understanding is that the simple model has something like 4 equations which is guaranteed to create a solution where no player can get better without worsening someone else, however adding extra equations can destroy this - hopefully this makes sense - and I want to know what adding extra equations actually does and if there are standard accepted extra equations etc etc . I think this is probably understandable if you have done cournot electricity dispatch models?. resources much much better than texts as my access to library is very limited (but not impossible). Thanks Andy C |
