Windows 2003 server and IIS 6
I've been using PHP5 on my Windows 2003 servers for more than a year now.
No problems at all. Using PHP with Apache on Windows based systems is another alternative and that works fine too (even better in many cases). - Frank I recommend staying AWAY from PHP 5. We were getting alot of random errors with IIS 6 and PHP 5. I finally went back to PHP 4 and all our problems went away. With PHP 5 would get random errors like host header string not complete or something to that effect and no php page would work. It even affected non php pages at times. PHP 5 has a WAYS to go before it's ready for IIS 6 it seems. Marvin "blulagoon" <blulagoon (AT) hotmail (DOT) comwrote in message news:42DD4835.56CFCCFA (AT) hotmail (DOT) com >I posted this on the Install newsgroup but got no response, so thought I would try here as many Windows experts read this group. > Does anyone have experience of installing either PHP 4.4 or PHP 5 in this environment. > I am quite experienced in writing PHP applications running under IIS 5, MS SQL on XP boxes, but now have a project we need to run on one of our 2003/IIS 6 machines. I've downloaded the installer, and selected IIS 6 as the web server but I get an error saying script is incompatible with W Script (or similar) then asking me if I want to make C script the default for running Visual Basic scripts. We don't really want to do this, as we run a lot of other stuff on this server written in VB. > As a result, the auto configuration of IIS 6 doesn't happen, I've tried it manually but failed dramatically, I so screwed IIS 6 it won't even serve .htm pages anymore > Any help very much received > Blu > n.b. I do know that once I've got php working in the environment, I have > to additonally sort the extensions for gd2 and MS SQL support. -- PHP Windows Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php -- PHP Windows Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php |
