ugh... vista. anyway, lots of DOS programs/games do not run right in newer Windows environments. i recommend a great program designed for DOS games in Windows called DOSBox.

as an alternative, you could install a program called VDMsound (google it) that is designed to emulate a Sound Blaster 16 in the win32 command prompt, which will provide sound in the game without using something like DOSBox.
your game is still likely to not work right though, so you should probably just stick with DOSBox.
