Easy TV MPEG Card
Helloes to all.
, here's what I have. I have successfully modprobed and activated a "Easy TV MPEG" tv acquisition card (fairly generic actually). I seem to be getting correct image feeds from it. Here's my big question. That card seems to be using the Phillips saa7130HL chip. Can that chip output sound to a /dev/dsp1 or something? This is the only thing that blocks me from actually getting it (I'm eval'ing it). Just to clarify things, it requires to plug a sound wire from it to the sound card on Windows. That's not good enough for me. I do not want a wire to run from my TV card to my Sound card. It is unaesthetic. And it isn't as controllable as a sound-to-mobo tv card. -- Renaud Lepage -- video4linux-list mailing list Unsubscribe @redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe |

This, however, is still very much work-in-progress as far as v4l is concerned - both in knowing which cards work, and making it work. Last time Ilooked there was info on the wiki, and I managed to make it work on a Haupauge WinTV-G, I dont have the exact model available (notes lost in the Mountains of Paper on my desk). But I remember I wasnt very satisfied: mono only, weird set of sampling rates, unsatifactory volume control. A cable to a sound card remains the best choice for low-cost TV cards. 2005/8/3, Nickolay V. This one has already been asked directly to Michel, and following his
advice, I'm posting a translation here :) So, basically, are the "PetitMou" (MicroSoft literaly translated)-certified Hauppauge WinTV PVR-*50 MCE acquisition cards supported by v4l entirely? And what about the ATI eHome Wonder? I "desperately" need a tuner card in the following week and a half, and I want one that doesn't have any extra wires to plug behind the box. And, for the record, my price range is at least 100 CAD. (I even found a WinTV PVR 250 MCE [32552] card somewhere and CHEAP as in below a hundred canadian bucks.) 2005/8/3, Michel Bardiaux <mbardiaux (AT) mediaxim (DOT) be>: Renaud Lepage wrote: Ctacular Any recommendation on a particular model that does the DMA sound job? If you want a non compressing frame grabber with a tv tuner, I'd go with the Terratec Cinergy 400 / 600. But you will need a uite fast CPU to record video without hardware accelerated compression. But you will need a uite fast CPU to record video without hardware accelerated compression. Anything faster than a P4-2GHz should be K. Not very fast by nowadays standards (but make sure it has plenty of cache!) Henk Poley <>< -- Michel Bardiaux R&D Director MediaXim S.A. Does btaudio work with the Cinergy? You don't need btaudio with the saa7134 based cards. So actually I shouldn't recommend the Cinergy in particular, just the chipset Henk Poley <>< -- video4linux-list mailing list Unsubscribe @redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe |

Easy TV MPEG Card
you just made a new question arise.
I am SUPPSEDLY gonna get a Roselyn-type Hauppauge PVR250 MCE tv acq card. The IVTVTW (IVTV Tiki Wiki), they say that Roselyn PVR250MCE card support is currently being implemented into the cx88 driver ( more here<>). If it's true, then what's the status on this one? 2005/8/3, Henk Poley <hpoley (AT) dds (DOT) nl>: woensdag 03 augustus 2005 19:03, schreef Michel Bardiaux: Henk Poley wrote: the WinTV PVR x50 cards are supported by there own driver project > URL?
