System File Manager

I notice that in:

System Settings =Default Applications

that there is no option to set the default File Manager.

I think that this is a needed feature.

Some uninformed users have been saying that they want to uninstall
Dolphin. Clearly such drastic action isn't needed. All that is needed
is a way to set the default File Manager to:

Dolphin
Konqueror
<Fill in PATH>

Probably also need a place to modify the default directory that it opens
with. Note that Dolphin opens with: "KGlobalSettings::documentPath()"
which I believe is correct.

KFMClient should be changed so that KGlobalSettings::documentPath() is
the default directory for 'filemanagement'.

Hi James,

I agree and will take care to implement this for KDE 4.2.

Some uninformed users have been saying that they want to uninstall
Dolphin. Clearly such drastic action isn't needed. All that is needed
is a way to set the default File Manager to:

Dolphin
Konqueror
<Fill in PATH>

Probably also need a place to modify the default directory that it opens

which I believe is correct.

KFMClient should be changed so that KGlobalSettings::documentPath() is
the default directory for 'filemanagement'.

I'll have a look on this too for 4.2, but have to check first the current state

Best regards,
Peter
