The connector is the same. On a 3.5" setup the data and power are usually seperate, on a 2.5" it is usually a one piece connector (power and data).
If you are trying to plug a 2.5" into a 3.5" setup you should be OK, not the other way around as the 2.5" setup will not normally be able to provide sufficent power to the 3.5" drive.
