OpenGL with Older Video Cards
Hello:
I am trying to run VPython, which uses GL. I have a PC running WinXP Pro. My computer had an AGP Nvidia GeForce2 MX 100/200 video card with Driver Version: 5.6.7.3(that's what the Device Manager said). With that card, I got this error message, "pythonw.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.", and WinXP wants to send an error message to Microsoft. I downloaded the file from Nvidia, but it (apparently) does not apply to my video board. I am now using a PCI S3 ViRGE DX/MX, and I have the same problem. I know this is old hardware, but VPython is the first program that has not run on my computer. I hope someone can tell me what I can do to solve this problem w/o buying new hardware. Thanks. To reply directly to me, replace all 'z' with 'a' in email address. |

OpenGL with Older Video Cards

There were never acceptable opengl-drivers for s3 at all and i think for directx no drivers were available after 3.0. Christian Brandt |
