I assume you are talking about a Dell Optiplex GX1.
These machines had a PCI 2.1 compliant expansion bus. You should be able to find a low cost PCI graphics card that will play games.
The graphics controller that was built in was a ATI Rage Pro with 4MB graphics RAM. Make sure if you buy something newer it has at least 64MB graphics memory.
The machine and current graphics should be able to play older games quite well. Have you upgraded the operating system, as this will be something that will slow down this machine a lot. It was built pre 2000 so while it is useful you need to understand it's limitations.
