Printing wait

I have a label printer that i print to.If i print 5 at a time or even 10 20 then its fine.if i print BIG jobs like 80 labels then the 1st 60 is fine maybe then it prints junk or some of the labels are just blank..i am using delphi 2007 and quickreports 4..i am using labels on the report.is there a way i can maybe before each print tell the porgram to wait until the printer is free or something.like i said i HAVE NO IDEA WHY it would do that.
