ASMlib
My question is _whoi ever need this thing_? It have not
asm-check utility, have not asm navigation utilities. I never could understand, why they ever created it (I could understand if they created ASM file system, but it never happen). they created it to aid with device naming and improved I since off the shelf aio prior to the 2.6 kernel is pretty clunky. ASMlib is not needed. If you don't have a cluster and are happy with libc, go for it. It, is a choice. Using ASM with PolyServe provides cluster-global device naming (no device slip) and I is done with the Disk Manager library (DM)which is an API designed by Bill Bridge who designed SMoh, I mean the marketing name ASM Message From: "G Rieger" <GRieger (AT) PRBUSINESS (DOT) DE> To: <suse-oracle (AT) suse (DOT) com> Sent: Tuesday, July 12, 2005 12:39 AM Subject: [suse-oracle] ASMlib Hi all, is there any chance that the asmlib-packages for SLES 9 are going to be updated to the SP 2 kernel- version?
