I think there might be a virus in my computer that is causing my CTRL key to activate

Hello,

I think there might be a virus in my computer that is causing my CTRL key to activate for periods of time ranging from 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Usually when I have to wait 20 minutes I restart the computer. Even when I have restarted or shut down then restart, this condition is still in effect. Eventually it goes away by it self. There is nothing I can do to make it go away except wait. Has anyone heard about a virus that directly affects the CTRL key? Also how would I get rid of this phenomenon.
