A virus/error so rare-geek squad didn’t even know-PLEASE help, long post but please
I downloaded a file that contained something quite wicked in it. Altered my entire computer. However, I was able to fix all problems using various items (webrooter, antivirus scan, cccleaner etc.) except for one, and that is the one NO ONE can figure out, hopefully you guys can. When I transfer anything, i.e. a music file to a folder on my desktop, the rectangular box that says “moving one item” appears, obviously, and it DOES transfer the file yet the box WILL NOT go away. When I hit cancel, it just says canceling and still stays there- will not move at all. The only way to get rid of the box is to go to task manager and end task yet when I do that a screen pops up asking if I want to shut my computer down and then the box pops up stating “windows explorer is not responding” then everything on my desktop disappears for about 10 seconds then comes back. Have any of you heard of anything like this? any suggestions? The only option I have left is wipe the hard drive yet I have thousands of dollars of software on my computer and do not have the discs for all of them and I obviously cannot transfer them to an external hard drive or DVD’s due to the transfer problem. If you have taken the time to read this, thank you and God bless. Jeff I AM RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM
