how to use formMap.put() ?

I pass parameters to my forms and form widgets like this:

var form=new Form(myFormDefinition);
form.setAttribute("myAttribute",myAttribute);
form.lookupWidget("myWidget").setAttribute("myAttribute",myAttribute);
